Mike's 2007 Endchart:80-71
Well, it's time for 80-71. I have fallen behind on this and I promised a show...but I need to get back on pace by year's end....let's just get right to it.
80. Daughtry - It's Not Over (1@1) (94,599) (MWC:#128, IDRL:#78, AIRPLAY:#79)
Chris Daughtry had #2 on the VH1 top 40 of 2007 with this track, and winds up #80 here on the MWC list. Hit #1 very early in the year but that's all they could really do. Got to #5 on the daily airplay chart.
79. Hayden Panettiere - I Still Believe (#9) (97,622) (MWC:#117, IDRL:#79, AIRPLAY:#80)
Hayden has 3 chances of securing a good showing on the year-end countdown, but this is her best chance until her debut album is released. I Still Believe is from Cinderella Soundtrack and this got to #9 on the MWC and hit #8 on the daily airplay chart but hung around there for a while.
78. Alexisonfire - This Could Be Anywhere In The World (#2) (99,399) (MWC:#108, IDRL:#77, AIRPLAY:#78)
Debuted early in the year and left quite a mark crushing the competition. Fortunes changed quickly as they sputtered but still wound up #2 on both airplay and the main chart.
77. Delta Goodrem - Flawed (3@1) (105,330) (MWC:#115, IDRL:#80, AIRPLAY:#77)
Delta has a pair on the list. Flawed started her run slow in 2006, but finally took off in 2007 and blazing a trail to hit #1 on the airplay chart and topped the countdown 3 times which WAS very surprising consider that she began 2007 looking to go top 20.
76. Paramore - Born For This (#12) (108,344) (MWC:#53, IDRL:#76, AIRPLAY:#76)
Hayley and gang have 3 appearances. Born For This didn't really do that much damage considering how big their other 2 songs are. This hit #10 on the airplay and #12 on the countdown.
75. Flyleaf - All Around Me (#9) (119,204) (MWC:#64, IDRL:#75, AIRPLAY:#75)
Flyleaf had a great 2006 with I'm So Sick and Fully Alive doing damage. 2007 sorta stalled for this band as Lacey and co. got to #9 on both charts. Make no mistake, this band is tough.
74. Alyssa Simmons - Bigger Than Us (#3) (123,400) (MWC:#50, IDRL:#73, AIRPLAY:#74)
About a few months ago I made her my Artist Of The Week. She had a big impact as this song unexpectedly got to #3 on the countdown. Lack of consistent airplay though hampered her stretch run to wind her up with the #74 song of 2007.
73. Brandi Carlile - The Story (#2) (128,300) (MWC:#80, IDRL:#74, AIRPLAY:#73)
Disappointing finish to 2007 considering she had a lot of momentum looking to finish in the top 30. This failed to make a case on daily airplay maxing at #43 and hitting #2 on the countdown.
72. Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooh (#4) (131,499) (MWC:#70, IDRL:#71, AIRPLAY:#72)
A 2006 favorite, Girls Aloud topped twice in 2006 and at one point was #2 in the 2007 MWC standings. Fortunes changed fast as they struggled with I Think We're Alone Now, Sexy No No No and Call The Shots. (the latter 2 failed to go top 10) Hit #1 on the daily airplay chart last year.
71. The Starting Line - Island (#15) (136,922) (MWC:#58, IDRL:#69, AIRPLAY:#69)
Sort of a sleeper, this hit #8 on the daily airplay chart and a solid #15 on the MWC chart considering it struggled early. (ala Boys Like Girls) They have a decent chance at doing more damage in 2008.
Tomorrow we have a few more surprises in store. Don't miss it.

Mike's 2007 Endchart:70-61 + 10 Songs To Look For In 2008
First, it's time for the 10 biggest songs to look out for in 2008. All these will be #1 contenders.
10. Bad Religion - New Dark Ages
9. Ayumi Hamasaki - Together When
8. Paramore - 'that' Flames song
7. Stephanie McIntosh - '2nd album'
6. Elise Estrada - Unlove You
5. Jimmy Eat World - Big Casino
4. Delta Goodrem - Believe Again
3. Miley Cyrus - Start All Over
2. Nightwish - Amarnath
1. PinBoys - Tonight (We Beat The Beats)
OK, let's get going.
70. Tiger Army - Forever Fades Away (#2) (138,322) (MWC:#63, IDRL:#71, AIRPLAY:#71)
Like The Starting Line, Tiger Army had been consistent the whole way. Unlike The Starting Line, they bolted to #2 and looked like a #1 threat. However, they faltered fast and stumbled to finish strong but finishes #70 on the endchart.
69. Dropping Daylight - Tell Me (#7) (140,000) (MWC:#79, IDRL:#68, AIRPLAY:#68)
The most underrated rock song of the year, period! Topped my daily airplay chart and won my annual rock band song battle competition beating Madina Lake. This hit #7 on the countdown in the summer.
68. Sugababes - About You Now (#12) (148,886) (MWC:#54, IDRL:#70, AIRPLAY:#70)
Tough year for Sugababes. They could never get anything going in 2007 and failed to hit the top 10 with this song. They have been strong for several years however, so they do get a pass. Singer Ashley Tisdale told us, 'Keisha, Heidi and Amelle are ready for 2008.'
67. Ayumi Hamasaki - Fated (#13) (156,399) (MWC:#55, IDRL:#67, AIRPLAY:#66)
I am pleased to welcome Japanese singing sensation Ayumi Hamasaki. This girl charted strong cracking the #13 spot We will see where her current smash will end up later on. Fated was never on the daily airplay chart but got a ton of fan support.
66. Rilo Kiley - Silver Lining (#11) (164,377) (MWC:#73, IDRL:#66, AIRPLAY:#67)
I usually don't say this, but I credit Daniele Donato for helping me discover this band. This got to #11 on the chart and hit #19 on the daily airplay chart, but got a lot of fan support in the run they had.
65. Matchbox 20 - How Far We've Come (#16) (168,392) (MWC:#44, IDRL:#65, AIRPLAY:#65)
Often overlooked, the boys of MB20 scored their 7th career top 100 finish on the endchart. Unfortunately, this is nowhere close to their career high. Still, they got to #2 on the daily airplay chart and finished up #65 on the year. The video wasn't exactly flashy however, thus didn't get a lot of fan support.
64. Jupiter Rising - Electropop (#2) (178,355) (MWC:#74, IDRL:#64, AIRPLAY:#64)
Trip-hop has made an impact on my chart in more ways than one thanks to Jupiter Rising's addictive Electropop. The impact this song had was very strong and was a dangerous #1 threat for a while including their #10 debut.
63. Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape (#12) (184,592) (MWC:#77, IDRL:#62, AIRPLAY:#63)
They had a run similar to The Starting Line. This got to top 10 on the pop charts, retired on TRheLL:That shows a lot of Soulja Boy, Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, Shop Boyz, and hit #12 on the countdown. Hit #15 on the daily airplay chart.
62. Madina Lake - House Of Cards (#3) (186,777) (MWC:#76, IDRL:#63, AIRPLAY:#62)
They had a run similar to Tiger Army. This was a dangerous #1 threat to Angela and Nicole, but they couldn't quite seal the deal. Topped the daily airplay chart in the Spring. They also won the Spring Battle Of The Bands Showdown. Most underrated punk band of the year?
61. Maarja - Could You (#6) (193,255) (MWC:#78, IDRL:#61, AIRPLAY:#61)
Vanilla Ninja fans know her well, she got to #6 on the countdown and hit #4 on the daily airplay chart. She also made an impact as she helped Estonia get notoriety on th countdown in 2007 and 2008 looks bright for this young star.
Muse is one of the many names coming up from 60-51. Don't miss it!

Mike's 2007 Endchart:60-51 - Surprises/Disappointments
First, we have our Surprises and Disappointments of 2007.
TOP 5 SURPRISES:
5. I Nine
4. Muse
3. Miley Cyrus
2. Silverchair
1. Dolores O'Riordan
TOP 5 DISAPPOINTMENTS:
5. Evanescence
4. Akon
3. T-Pain
2. All rappers not named Kanye West or Chamillionaire
1. Britney Spears (Sorry but I had to do it, not a single point on my chart in 2007)
60. Muse - Map Of The Problematique (1@1) (228,366) (MWC:#22, IDRL:#60, AIRPLAY:#60)
This is the 2nd appearance of Muse. Map Of The Problematique became the band's 3rd #1 hit on the countdown which iss more than any band since Linkin Park and Evanescence.
59. Ashley Tisdale - Headstrong (#7) (228,435) (MWC:#47, IDRL:#59, AIRPLAY:#58)
We saw Ashley Tisdale earlier at #99 with Not Like That, now she returns at #59 and still has 3 more appearances on the endchart. Headstrong is the title track from her album and this steadily rose to the occasion at #7 and finished #59 on the overall list.
58. Juli - Zerrissen (#5) (234,977) (MWC:#52, IDRL:#58, AIRPLAY:#59)
This is the first of 3 from the German band Juli. This also made a steady approach and slowly fell down on the chart. Went as high as #5 and became the band's 2nd top 5 hit and 3rd top 10 hit.
57. Faber Drive - Tongue Tied (#4) (238,888) (MWC:#49, IDRL:#57, AIRPLAY:#57)
Faber Drive made their countdown debut in 2007 and Tongue Tied got to #2 on the daily airplay chart and went as high as #4 on the countdown. The boys from Canada wowed many with this upbeat song.
56. Colby Crain - Aroma (#10) (245,377) (MWC:#41, IDRL:#56, AIRPLAY:#56)
Colby Crain makes a name for herself at #56 on this endchart. Her strategy was uncharacteristic as she went mixed bag on us all. This hit #10 on the countdown and stayed steady. A good friend of Angela Ammons.
55. I Nine - Seven Days Of Lonely (#5) (246,390) (MWC:#48, IDRL:#55, AIRPLAY:#55)
Carmen and the gang took it easy as Seven Days Of Lonely mirrored Faber Drive the whole way, staying one step ahead of them. Unfortunately, they maxed out at just #5 compared to Faber Drive's #4. 2008 could be their year.
54. Hayden Panettiere - Go 2 Girl (#7) (248,993) (MWC:#34, IDRL:#54, AIRPLAY:#54)
2nd from Hayden on the top 100. Go 2 Girl didn't do exceptionally well compared to her solid top 20 debut. Still, Hayden continues to impress as she garnered her 5th top 20 hit on the chart. This was from the GirlNext II CD.
53. Rise Against - The Good Left Undone (#6) (253,255) (MWC:#62, IDRL:#53, AIRPLAY:#53)
Many speculated this would be top 30 but the lack of airplay hindered their chances at a solid finish. This was mostly up and down on the chart going high one week, down the next and returning to form then. 2008 might be a time for them to cement their status as one of the stronger bands.
52. Stephanie McIntosh - God Only Knows (#3) (261,443) (MWC:#36, IDRL:#51, AIRPLAY:#52)
Stephanie's 2nd top 100 showing right here. If 2007 was her year, 2008 might be the time when she cements her legacy on the countdown as the best ever....maybe? Anyway, God Only Knows might be her weakest upbeat song when it comes to airplay. Most of her songs topped my daily airplay chart. This hit #3 on the countdown.
51. Bruce Springsteen - Radio Nowhere (#2) (262,499) (MWC:#45, IDRL:#52, AIRPLAY:#51)
The Boss came back swinging with a battleaxe in hand. Jolted ahead to #2 but maxed out there. This is his highest endchart showing in nearly 10 years. Hit #2 on the daily airplay chart.
Hinder, Paula Deanda, Juli and more Stephanie McIntosh on the way. Don't move.
Also we have the Best Songs From Foreign-born singers so don't miss that.

Mike's 2007 Endchart:50-41 + We Beating Down The Beats More
Here is a look at the best songs from Foreign-born artists. You may be familiar with a few of the names. To be fair to all, I will limit to one per artist.
1. Stephanie McIntosh - So Do I Say Sorry First
2. Dolores O'Riordan - Ordinary Day
3. Belinda - See A Little Light
4. Juli - Dieses Leben
5. Christina Sturmer - Scherbenmeer
6. Delta Goodrem - In This Life
7. Ayumi Hamasaki - Talkin 2 Myself
8. Alexisonfire - Rough Hands
9. Silverchair - Straight Lines
10. Sugababes - About You Now
This is a strong list here.
50. Juli - Wir Biede (#5) (279,355) (MWC:#52, IDRL:#50, AIRPLAY:#49)
Juli heats it up for the 2nd time with their upbeat track Wir Biede. This became the band's first ever top 5 hit and got to the top 20 in points in the summer. Things went awry for this German sensation and finished solid to kick off the top 50.
![](http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/3277/paulajj7.jpg)
49. Paula Deanda - When It Was Me (#4) (289,771) (MWC:#33, IDRL:#49, AIRPLAY:#50)
Despite a rough late summer/fall, Paula did very well. This got to #4 on the countdown and took #5 on the daily airplay chart. Paula still has some songs left to go and she's hoping she finishes this chart strong.
![](http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9407/hinderbu0.jpg)
48. Hinder - Better Than Me (#3) (299,323) (MWC:#57, IDRL:#48, AIRPLAY:#48)
Considering how inactive they were in the 2nd half of 2007, this dominated the first half by at one point going to #2 on the points race. This went all the way to #3 on the countdown, AND I KNOW JOHNNY'S GONNA PICK ON ME FOR THIS SINCE HE HATES THIS BAND...but so what? I like this song a lot. Have I not said it was a guilty pleasure of mine?
![](http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3693/daughlk9.jpg)
47. Daughtry - Over You (#17) (299,778) (MWC:#40, IDRL:#47, AIRPLAY:#47)
Surprisingly Daughtry's best showing here. A ton of people speculated this would be way higher than people thought. This went to #17 on the countdown and is still going strong as we speak so he has a chance to make a much better showing in 2008.
![](http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9780/stephaniema2.jpg)
46. Stephanie McIntosh - Overcome (#4) (311,255) (MWC:#32, IDRL:#46, AIRPLAY:#46)
Stephanie's 3rd appearance in the top 100. Overcome was one of her strongest airplay songs to-date by topping my daily airplay list 6 times. She still has a few songs left and is still a favorite to take the #1 spot.
![](http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6296/bbzd7.jpg)
45. Colbie Caillat - Bubbly (#3) (316,834) (MWC:#42, IDRL:#45, AIRPLAY:#45)
Might be the feel-good story of 2007. Bubbly shot up to #3 on the countdown and #2 on the daily airplay chart, including a nice run in the top 10 on the countdown. They couldn't make that last push for #1 and couldn't quite get there in the end. She has a tough act to follow with her next single.
![](http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/6779/arcadebx5.jpg)
44. The Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (#6) (318,477) (MWC:#29, IDRL:#43, AIRPLAY:#44)
The Arcade Fire made their comeback imminent with a #6 showing and is still showing great legs. They got to #3 on the daily airplay chart and spent several weeks in the top 10 as they tried to hold off Muse.
![](http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/4482/coritl4.jpg)
43. Cori Yarckin - On My Own (1@1) (319,992) (MWC:#30, IDRL:#44, AIRPLAY:#43)
Cori Yarckin went from one of the surprises of 2005 when she had a few top 10 hits, to one of the disappointments in 2007. On My Own did top the chart once, but flopped back and now is struggling. Still, she managed to finish the endchart at #43 which isn't too great to her standards, but she will take anything she can get.
![](http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/192/sheh8.jpg)
42. Shiny Toy Guns - Rainy Monday (#5) (322,883) (MWC:#26, IDRL:#41, AIRPLAY:#42)
Amazingly, this is only the first from them on this list. Shiny Toy Guns were the toughest band to beat until Paramore came rolling into town. This did infact hit #1 on my daily airplay chart and got to #5 on the countdown, what a magnificent run for them.
![](http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/8285/chzy0.jpg)
41. Christina Sturmer - Nie Genug (4@1) (325,883) (MWC:#23, IDRL:#42, AIRPLAY:#41)
Christina Sturmer was red-hot with this song for 4 shows and had more times on top than any other International artist on my daily airplay chart with a whopping 16 times with Nie Genug. Yet still, this song manages to finish outside the top 40....not bad Christina.
Just 40 remain, who will be #1? Stephanie, Ashley, Dolores, Shiny Toy Guns, Belinda, Rihanna, Paramore, Nicole, Angela, Aly & A.J., Hilary, Christina, Juli, Hayden, Paula? etc.
