GameFreak only gave us 69 new pokémon, and Porygon ended up being the #69th pokémon on the pokérate here on ATRL. Then they said there was going to be a Mega evo for Porygon-Z, but it wasn't released yet.
They released that thing that seems to be the Z legendary but the true is hidden in here!
Zygarde was just made to make people think they already revealed the protagonist of Z but indeed it is the unexpected Mega Porygon-Z who will turn out to be the Z version mascot!.
Let's just forget that Zygarde ever existed to begin with

Name origin
Porygon-Z is a combination of polygon, origami, and Z. It may also reflect the stereotype that Japanese people pronounce their 'L' sounds as 'R' sounds, Porygon being a mispronunciation of polygon. Z may refer to the Z axis in 3D coordination systems
This is the first pokémon created in 3D and Pokémon X, Y and Z are the first Pokémon gamers ever to be in 3D.
