Miley Cyrus has officially been given the seal of approval by the fashion crowd. The singer has been asked to present the most prestigious award at the annual Fashion Group International Night of Stars gala – one of the biggest events in the industry calendar.
Cyrus will present Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy with the Superstar Award. The singer has forged a close relationship with the designer, attending the Costume Institute Gala as his guest, appearing in his Protect The Skin You’re In campaign and perching front row at his New York Fashion Week shows.
While she’s been hovering around the circumference of the fashion industry for a while now, this marks the first time that the 20-year-old, has been officially endorsed by the fashion pack.
Other presenters confirmed for the event, which takes place at Cipriani in New York next week, include Kate Upton, Alexa Chung and Diane von Furstenberg – who will be handing out honours to the likes of Christopher Kane, Alexander Wang and Nadja Swarovski, reports WWD. Jacobs is also believed to be taking Aretha Franklin as a guest.
