The deluision in this thread. Why is there the need to compare two different artists at different points in their career. Lorde's album hasn't even been out for a month yet, while Lana has been around since 2011. These threads are nothing but threatened Lana fans upset that Lorde is getting everything Lana didn't and never will - critical acclaim and platinum sales. I'm not discounting the negative reviews per se I'm stating that virtually ALL the US music sites that qualify for metacritic status hated Lana at the time (some still do) and that's the reason for the very low scores from them (at the time it very much wasn't just about the music). Take out the US (NOT take out all the negative reviews) and BTD's metacritic score is 77. The huge discrepancy in scoring should illustrate my point to even the most dedicated Lana detractor.
