I connect with it so strongly because my first completely destroyed me & my views about love. And I made many vain and desperate attempts to get his attention. And it resulted in so many insecurities. And it was such a dark time and it took me three whole years to get over it all. And now I'm just now starting to love myself for who I am and am as happy as I've ever been.
And it's so relevant to me considering the other day, I was talking to somebody about something and he started saying something about how he hasn't found somebody to complete him. And I was all like, "you don't need anybody to complete you because you're already complete exactly as you are. You have to be happy with yourself and know what makes you happy before you can even think about being in a serious relationship and make somebody else happy."
And this song just gets to me.

I can relate to you in a way. I went through a break-up earlier this year. I'm pretty sensitive, so it's taken me a while to get over it/boost my confidence back up... Songs like
Love Me,
Choose Your Battles,
By the Grace of God,
It Takes Two & even
Ghost have been very helpful even on just a lyrical level.
They help to remind me of the bigger picture & what I deserve,
instead of the feelings I may still have/not have for those who have hurt me.
Birthday,
Walking On Air,
This Is How We Do and
International Smile remind me of how important it is to have fun & celebrate life. Then songs like
Unconditionally,
Legendary Lovers,
This Moment and
Spiritual remind me of what I have to look forward to with the next person.
I just wrote too much. Sorry, sistrens.
