No, I don't think Bad Bitch is wrong. Simply being gender non-conforming doesn't make you transgender. This is a crude example, but if I don't wear make-up, that's not conforming to the norms of what society has dictated for my gender, but that doesn't make me trans. I always understood a transsexual to be someone who had the sex change operation so that their genitalia, i.e. sex, has transitioned from one side of the binary to the other. Transgender is more of an all encompassing, umbrella term which includes transsexuals, sort of like, how the word gay can apply to both men and women, but lesbian just applies to women. Gender and sex are often conflated, but gender is a societal invention, whereas sex is biological. So, being transgender is more complex than people mistaking you for your gender. It's more like feeling as if your body has been assigned the wrong gender, like you're trapped inside the wrong body.
