The HTC One is fast.

But when it comes to apps, the 5S loads them so fast I don't even realize.
Android apps on the other devices no mater the maker or specs load slower because the majority of major apps on the Play Store were optimized for iOS.

Apps like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Vine etc. that were all updated for iOS 7 will probably have the same update by the end of the year on Android because Android users get a ported version of the iOS apps shoved on Google Play. Very rarely do they get apps built for both iOS & Android.

Which is a shame because Android devices are mostly quad-core now.

Marketing can only do so much. If Samsung phones were truly crap, they wouldn't continue to sell so well. We're talking about products that are essential for everyday life, not albums or movies where quality is completely subjective. Even though you may find the HTC One to be superior, obviously it's lacking in certain areas for Samsung to be more appealing (like expandable storage, replaceable battery). Don't blame Samsung or its customers for coming out on top, blame HTC for sabotaging themselves. BTW, stanning for corporations is even sadder than stanning for pop stars. None of them give a **** about you, they're all guilty of doing unethical things behind the scenes and they only care about one thing: profits.
