DWUW is the first promo single, being released on Monday. The Best Buy/Beats commercial was released with a snippet of DWUW. Venus is being released on the 27th BUT we might get to hear it in full or preview on 25th. We will get another promo single on 11/4, same day the entire album will be streamed on iTunes.

They're obviously aware that people need to be convinced to buy ARTPOP after BTW, so putting out as much of the music as possible is smart. One single wouldn't have been enough I don't think.

The GP doesn't know the iTunes fest as good as monsters/pop fans, so it's pretty smart. Stream always works well for albums from what I've understood.

I also think they delayed putting out promo singles until they were sure how Applause was going to fair considering it wasn't even announced until just recently.

I also think they're trying to show all sides of the album genre wise in order to convince folks that there's variety on it too (Applause, Venus, Dope & DWYU).

And with the album streaming, it seems like they are trying to combat against a potential leak (which will happen, I'm sure).

And they are going overload on promo on these last few weeks in comparison to the era thus far.


It seems like a well-thought out and well-executed plan, no matter what people think about Venus being squeezed between 2 promo singles.
