Why are you even trying to compare Beyoncé to Marilyn and Audrey. Marilyn and Audrey are icons of the Golden Age of Hollywood, their legacy is timeless, even after death they are still adored and recognized. Beyoncé won't even be remembered by the end of her lifetime.

Beyoncé is a feminist icon. And since we're living in a society where feminist ideology is making its way to the forefront, Bey is also a cultural icon. She represents a strength and class many women today work to and hope to emulate. If and when people read back, strong women on top, especially black women, like Oprah, Michelle, and Beyoncé will come to represent the ideals that encompassed our time.

Britney doesn't stand for much. She was a popstar, she was huge, she faded. What has she done/influenced outside of her music? People dance to her songs and then what? She's not even a Marilyn Monroe type, because Marilyn at least represented something. She's more of a Deborah Harry/Pamela Anderson type. A once good -looking famous blonde.

This would be like claiming in 1981 that Diana Ross would be forgotten. I am using analogies because it helps to put things into a context. Things are cyclical. History tends to repeat itself. If you think that Beyonce will be forgotten in a number of years you are wrong. You do not go from being the lead singer of the world's best selling girl-group to a record setting solo star with hit movies, singles, albums, tours, perfumes (basically everything), to marrying a hip-hop legend, to setting twitter records to performing at the iconic Super Bowl to being forgotten.

Not a chance, none of the major pop girls nowadays will be - Katy, Gaga, Rihanna. They are brief icons of the early 21st century and nothing more. They will have no lasting impact on society and will not transcend their celebrity image like the likes of Marilyn or Audrey. They will be quickly forgotten as the new generation of pop starlets emerge.
