But Def Jam surely cares what the public needs. She may experiment with sounds and stuffs but at the end of the day, she and DJ will release the best song on the album that will cater to tge public.

Me too. I never hated any Rihanna lead on the first listen. The song that clicked the fastest to me was Diamonds. I almost fainted when I first heard Russian. The lyrics were very haunting.

I thought Only Girl was pretty generic when I first heard it; especially with radio overplaying pop/dance with Gaga, BEP, etc. But it did grow on me to become one of my favs from her. That chorus is epic.
