nn I can't decide. I have a lv10 Timid Fennekin ♂ with 20 SpA (max, afaik, for neutral nature @ 10), 20 SpD, and 20 Speed. The 20 SpD is above avg and is his highest IV. 16 defense as well.

But then I have my lv10 Timid Fennekin ♀ with 20 SpA, 17 () SpD, but 22 () Speed (max speed IV @ 31) and 15 defense.

Should I go for the female w/ perfect speed with the clearly low SpD IV or the more balanced male Fennekin with a great SpD IV and presumably average to above average SpA, Speed and defense?

Yeah Mega Gengar shouldn't have any problems killing anything it hits neutrally. The defense won't be a problem.
