Obviously, they are different since certain male gays use it as an insult towards female gays. But as I said before, it's NOT okay, I agree.

However, he did an interview with Anderson Cooper about using the word "******" a few years ago (it seems to be one of his favourite words). He said that for him, the word has deviated to mean something else, just as the word "gay" traditionally means "happy". Eminem is pro gay marriage. Doesn't make what he said right, but that's his reasoning.

I agree. I've seen/talked about hip hop in sociology classes and most of it is filled with hatred/sexism/homophobia/violence. It doesn't appeal to me one bit.
So because a minority of ATRL used anti-lesbian words means the rest can't talk about this song being offensive?
