But we can't say what will & won't be influential. A #1 on iTunes reaches a lot of people. I listened to Eminem a lot when I was in my teens. It's his target listener demographic.
I just think it's lazy. We're breaking so much ground in society. "Same Love" was a hit & it benefitted everyone with its message. Eminem's been using gay slurs & hating women for years. It's just boring & stale now.
I don't expect his music to be about rainbows & sunshine, but I wish he'd stop thinking it was cool or edgy to use words that end up accidentally (??) promoting hate & ignorance.
