I wish Cuaron would have accomplished this type of success with Children of Men, but I won't complain about it happening a movie later.

I was going to say that this is going to be Cuaron's most successful film ever, but I forgot (for five seconds) that he also directed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Oh well, second WW behind a HP film is nothing to sneeze at. Gravity DOES, on the other hand, have a chance to surpass Azkaban's domestic total (it would need $250m, and it's on pace for that).

It's a solid, entertaining movie, but let's not act like Bullock or Clooney are the reason this is getting so much praise. The story is your standard Hollywood fluff. The effects and cinematography are where it's at.

The first one is true, but it was Monsters, Inc. that held the record before (-27.2%). The second one isn't at all cuz Twister fell -9.7% in its second weekend.
