"Judas" became a mess of a second single though. She already missed her chance to release promo singles for ARTPOP, which is fine I suppose since "Applause" is still slaying on radio and iTunes.

What? Promo singles are meant only to draw some attention to the album and buyers. They're not supposed to do super well on iTunes or anything so I don't see why they wouldn't work for Gaga.

But yeah I think it's too late now.

applause was released a week earlier though.
so the gap between first single and second single is around 2.5 months.

i love that J&D as a promo because it will get some real good exposure to RHY.
I also liked the idea of Aura being last single, but i think 6 singles are too much. most likely there will only be 4 or 5 depends on how the 4th one works.

I personally prefer:

3 Gypsy/GUY
4 Sexxx Dreams
5 Aura

I guess Mary Jane Holland is never gonna be a single. before she revealed the tracklist she said that two songs were cockfighting for the #12 track spot on ARTPOP. now we know MJH is the #12 track. it almost didn't make it.

ARTPOP the song is worthy of being an actual single, especially with the music scene steering towards that softer 'indie' sound as it is.

Aura would flop as hard as MTN. she needs a strong single to finish off the era.
