It annoys me when people use sex appeal with nothing underneath. I'm glad Miley has some high quality songs, but her music videos and performances leave so much to be desired.

This sounds something like what a parent in the early 1980s would say when Madonna released Like A Virgin
Not that I'm comparing Miley with Madonna *shudders* its just pop music and sex/nudity has always gone hand in hand
She can't condemn pop artists today when they are only doing what artists before them did decades ago

I think it's interesting that everybody seems to have an opinion or 'criticism' about Miley and what she's doing. I also think it's interesting that almost none of these criticisms have to do with the actual problematic things that she has done. Yes, I am a stan but I am not blind to the wrong things she has done. The cultural appropriation is gross and using little people and putting them in somewhat degrading costumes... nobody is addressing this. They'd rather talk about how unclassy/trashy she is and how she needs to put clothes on. Over it.

Poor parents. They try so hard to keep their kids and teens away from sex yet they can't because those bad mean pop singers just won't get dressed!!!!

as if most of their kids aren't watching **** almost every night since they turned like 11..

parents need to face it and understand that weather they like it or not their kids will watch and talk about sex and its not because of pop singers but because its part of life.. you learn more about sex from other kids at school than anything you watch on tv anyway.

Like a Virgin is so tame compared to what Miley is doing now. Also note that Madonna got progressively more risque. She went about it in a smart way. She didn't suddenly come on stage trying to finger herself with foam fingers. Also, she was 25-26. Also, she's a phenomenal performer.

She's everything Miley wants to be, but will never attain.

Actually, when relevant legends like Cher and Celine are ASKED about Miley, it's not attention seeking. They were asked for their opinions. Celine is not writing a blog(s) about Miley.

I agree with Celine, unfortunately none of this will matter to Miley or the rest of the industry. As long as it sells; that's all they care about. Celine already knows this too but is at least standing up for her position; this is her speaking to the public.
