The Stone Roses is the debut album by English rock band The Stone Roses, released on Silvertone Records in 1989. It cemented the band's reputation among critics, and is still rated by some as one of the most influential albums ever recorded. In 2004 an Observer Music Monthly poll consisting of musicians and critics voted the album the greatest of all time, as did the writers of NME in 2006, declaring it to be the greatest British album of all time. It is widely considered the seminal record of the Madchester movement that was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and as being highly responsible for the mid-1990s resurrection of British guitar music that came to be known as Britpop.
I like this album a lot, even though I haven't heard it enough to put it on my list. Its sound is reflected in a lot of more recent bands/albums and I can see why it's so praised.
Didn't vote for it, but Back in Black really is a classic deserving of its place.

The Tide Is High is a BOP, too!
My personal favorite Blondie album is Eat to the Beat, just for the flawless Atomic and Dreaming Parallel Lines IS a classic, though.

Yeah when I first got into Blondie I didn't know deborah would be well so amazing. I gotta get more into their discography now that I look at this thread so many solid albums were released in the 80's. I see a lot of her influence in gwen and that song by xtina etc....

It's weird to think that this is probably his most successful album considering how unimportant it seems to his 70s giants. It's still good though and I love the title track.
