I wouldn't be saying these things if I felt her answers were genuine, but judging from her history of being overly diplomatic and politically correct (and also the fact she's never actually talked about Beyonce before promoting "Exotic"), I doubt it.
As for Rihanna, I think a lot of Beyonce stans are sensitive about her. And Priyanka rarely mentions Rihanna in actual interviews; she usually mentions her through non-professional mediums like Twitter and Instagram. I definitely don't think Rihanna would be a good answer to this question and disassociating herself from her trashiness might be a good idea since Indians are giving her flack about it, but honesty is more endearing than generic answers.

An interesting take, but her not mentioning Beyoncé before promoting Exotic means nothing. People have many different preferences, interests, sources of inspiration and admiration and very rarely do they express those feelings out in the open. In this case Beyoncé's impact on her is a passive (Interviews are supposed to be probing, so that could be why her appreciation of Beyoncé is only expressed in them) one as opposed to her active fandom of Rihanna, which for all we know may just be a basic love of her music and antics on social media. It may not lend itself to interviews, because she may not have much to say apart from being a fan of her candor and music.
I have many musical interests and just because I don't talk about them online, it doesn't mean what I say about them given the opportunity are any less genuine. Her answer is plausible regardless of her PC history and she should be afforded the benefit of the doubt. Many celebrities feel that way about Beyoncé and that's the only reason it may be seen as a generic answer.
Hive in name doesn't mean Hive in mind. A good number of them like her, whilst others are indifferent. It isn't fair to make such a broad statement because of a vocal minority on here. You'd find that save a few members, a lot of reactions to Rihanna are only reactionary and the Hive has a lot less dedicated detractors of others than other bases.
