Sis, let's not say Applause did better than The Edge of Glory. Sure, it may have more longevity so far but TEOG has outsold it and it will be a while before Applause can reach its sales. TEOG is a timeless Gaga classic.

Applause did better on radio and iTunes.

Most of the radio restructure happened before teog. TEoG is iconic. but Applause is bigger. TEoG had AC support that kept it around for so long on radio.

Even if true I always thought TEOG was such an overrated song. I still barely ever listen to it.

I prefer Applause way, way more.

TEOG was received better by the GP. The sales speak for itself. Let's not forget that people still bought TEOG single despite having the BTW album already

TEOG was by far a bigger radio hit.. Pay no mind to those inflated audience numbers.. But hopefully if applause keeps growing it can snatch

And yes, the radio numbers were inflated.

But honestly, we can't really say which one did better until Applause's run is completely done for. Then we can compare those two together.

..and that matters how? It still got more audience than TEOG did, end of story. Just because the chart added stations, etc does NOT mean anything. Those stations being there didn't mean they had to play Applause.. this got to where it's at solely on it's own merit. It's so frustrating to me when people bring up "inflated numbers". Just no. lol

It's really no big deal I don't want applause to become too huge on radio.. The songs that get *****d out get so annoying! Plus I want her other singles to have success too. The GP can't handle gaga in huge doses and that's what interscope has learned.. I like that gaga is laying low but she needs to start promoting the album!!!!

The inflation on the #s that are posted in the Mediabase thread become inflated in the beginning of 2012, before TEoG. SFttR was #1 on airplay when the change happened. Gaga hasn't had a single affected before Applause, because nothing from BtW was.

TEoG made it to over 100 million deflated, Applause is at around 80-85 million deflated. I think Applause will peak in 95-100 million.

Even if Applause outlasts The Edge of Glory in days in the iTunes Top 10, TEoG sold at a much faster pace. Applause isn't going to reach it.

Not to mention that early on in its chartrun, the full album was cheaper than the individual single. So it had that working against it, as well.
