Which seemingly proves that the shiny ball syndrome might be right?
toddlers see a shiny bright neon colored ball and go gaga (pun intended) for it because it appears new and fresh and excites their mind. After awhile, it loses it's luster and toddlers want something different if there only appeal for the ball was that it was shiny and bright...not that it was the best toy to play with or any other appeal.
People compared Gaga's career to a greek tragedy in that she sold out to become something that brought everyone to her but couldn't keep everyone with her and couldn't find her way to get them back.
I LOL'd because I've never heard of that greek tragedy in history but this was posted (paraphrasing) about the BTW era.
I do think there is some truth and that's what happens when you go too the extreme you just confuse the GP and people then have to rely on your music...if that is something people are not here for then they just move on.
It happened with Xtina. she did not know how to reinvent herself properly and while she has a spectacular voice, her music couldn't keep people into dealing with her mismanaged shifts in her image and music.
Debut album (bubble teen pop star that could sing-image clean, young racially ambiguous girl that had potential to market herself to pop, latin and urban world.
Stripped (raunchy, dirtty girl that wanted to try to hard to rebel against pop but still wanted to be taken seriously-image opposite of debut album and came of a little trashy and not as sexy)
3rd album I forget what it's called because it's so forgettable (glammed up throwback which was her best image and music)
Some random GH with dated "futuristic" song
Bionic dated "futuristic" album
Lotus...need i say more.
Easily could have been rectified had she done the images for her 2nd and 3rd eras and switch the order.
Anyways, gaga has a fanbase but the real test is after the hype is down how long can you maintain so the clock starts...now
