And some Pokemon just aren't meant to be that strong. That's how it's always been and always will be. Like it or not, the "competitive" aspect of Pokemon is just something people on smogon kind of arbitrarily make up. Gamefreak knows y'all will use whatever has good stats, so don't be mad that your favorite designs ain't that strong. You have to learn to love them and use them anyway, flaws and all

Mawhile wasn't meant to be
that strong until it got a MEvo. And GF just chooses whatever Pokemon they like the most and give them good stats and everything else.
It's NOT fair, and please don't use this ''love them for who they are and don't be mad'' bull****. I like my Pokemons to be viable at least in some way, to have a niche in the meta, not everything is solely about the design. I love Froslass and wouldn't use her in OU if she didn't have that move pool. I started to love Slowbro because of what he can do in-battle and that was even before he got Regenerator. I couldn't care less about him before and he's one of my fave Pokemon now. Meanwhile I can't get around to liking Pokemon with crap everything because I don't get to use them much. I mean, do I like some of those? Sure, but that's because their designs are VERY appealing to me, like Stunfisk. It's a mix of both, imo.
I wish some would have been given a chance to begin with, otherwise what's the point of them existing anyway?

I mean have you ever seen someone use a Watchog against the Elite 4, for example, because they like his design?
