IU's album is great on so many levels. In a lot of ways it's like Monochrome pt. II (not
really because different artists, different sounds, etc. but) in the sense that it hearkens back to that time period and succeeds. Whereas Hyori's album was more jazz-influenced production with pop melodies, Modern Times is a solid foundation of cabaret with some jazz and, interestingly enough, old European folk references.
I love it.
