Dancers don't make sense in a small stage like Ellen (or Jay Leno where she performed before). We have that experience with other artists and it just looks awkward and try-hard in TV stages like that.
Now, in award shows and on tour, dancers would make it more interesting. And I don't even need her dancing because I prefer her slaying those vocals, but dancers would look good in the background.
