^ quit busting my chops Aron...I think "Beautiful", "Walk Away", "I'm OK" etc. are deep songs. I wasn't insulting Christina, but I was stating that most of her music is very bouncy, peppy, superficial pop. Brit and Kelly have had a few substantial songs here and there too, but I was just saying that they are all a bit lightweight relative to Amy.

it wasn´t THAT that i was irritated about (since you are right), it was that you took a fan of christina, kelly and britney for someone who won´t be able to recognise Amy´s quality...

^it wasn't an insult though. i just thought that fridayteenage wasn't a fan of the R&B/Soul genre so that's why she (or he?) didn't like Back to Black. I failed to realize that it IS possible to like more than one type of music though, so my bad.

I hope Mary J. Blige can open with 600K. Though with a small hit, and a hit in the making, I think it'' be more around 450K to 600K.

You're right, I like all those singers too. I don't know what "YMMV" means though.

Im not trying to pick a fight. I just want to know...
Britney fans are always saying how legendary she is becuase of the sales she accumulated in her early years. Obviously this album is nowhere near her previous works, and even if you figure the decline of the market, she doesnt appear to be on pace with her peers right now. So...does this make her less legendary or less valuable to the industry? I only ask because Britney fans have **** on other artists and fans of other artists for low sales and now Britney is in the same boat. Some might even say not only is she in the boat, but homegirl isnt even CPT of the ship. She isnt doing well commercially and that was always her strength. So what have you to say about that? I am just curious if people will admit it or present a double standard. Lets compare her current sales to other pop princesses, lets say, Fergie, RIhanna and P!nk...all bring something very different to the airwaves and lets see how she mashes up...anyone?

First, Britney is THE Princess of Pop. She was given that title before all the others start to follow her.
Second, 'Blackout' is flopping hard so far INDEED. But it was obvious the album wouldn't have strong or at least acceptable sales if there's no Britney around. Britney is ALL about her image - she's a performer, she's an entertainer, and when it comes to her, that all comes before the fact that she's also a singer. And what this era has offered us so far? A laughable performance and an awful music video. That's not enough for the 'Legendary Miss Britney Spears'.
What I'm saying is if she's not out there promoting the hell out of her album, it won't sell. Simple as that. In other words, yes, she's considered legendary for her huge album sales power. But her sales would never be legendary if there weren't legendary performances and legendary music videos to legendary songs. Summarizing, she needs all that to sell. Good songs (even if this is the first time she's getting critical aclaim) will only take her this far.
