Dual single releases did not start with Beyonce.
All her gimmick shows is that she was too insecure in her urban songs crossing over so she uses the pop ones as a crutch. Ironically, Single Ladies became the biggest song of the era and crossed over successfully due to the video. Without the video, SL would have performed just like Get me Bodied on the charts.
