I think Brandy and Beyonce balance in singing talent.
Beyonce's has a margin of 1 semi note over Brandy's range. Beyonce has more power in her upper register. However Beyoncé needs reverb to take away from the shrillness of her higher notes using her chest voice.
Brandy has more clarity and power in her lower range. She has very good agility. But not only are her runs amazing, she knows how to incorporate minors, which is very risky, and she always pulls it off (Bey has been able to incorporate minors but there are very few instances where she has). However her voice thins in her higher register.
Which is why in my eyes they are equal in vocal talent. But just because Brandy has a more soulful voice (imo) and is better at running, I said 1+1 would have worked better for her. It's not a diss to Beyoncé what so ever.
kalsdnakjlsnf. She better sit on those mic effects for her life
And kii @ impressive register when during the lowest note she was supposed in halo ("make a sound"). She turned the mic off into the audience because she couldn't handle it. The self drag
Mic effects? Where?
That connected range, those runs, the head voice, the clarity.
Oh so you were talking about emotion all that time? Oh then we will live it at that.
Sidenote : Beyoncé is a Tina like performer of course but she is not a Tina like singer.
I disagree with all your post but it's not worth it.
ALRIGHT, THIS IS THE TRUTH AND NONE OF YOU WILL DENY IT.
Beyonce and Brandy should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Not because one is better than the other, but because they possess different voices and in no way sing similar music (these days, at least).
Beyonce has one of best trained voices I've ever heard. Her vocal technique is very precise. Her range is out of this world and she even sounds amazing when sick. Her voice is incredibly consistent.
Example #1
HOWEVER, Beyonce gives not an ounce of emotion when she sings. I actually receive no emotion from Beyonce as a person, nothing she has done or said has given me chills OTHER than watching her perform. Her insane amount of confidence carries her, and as a star it should but there is nothing there. I'm bored watching her stand and perform.
NOW BRANDY
She may not have the range, she may not have that huge star power but she has the voice to move people as it does derive from church, and that is evident and to deny her talent is just wrong. Her voice is definitely unique and has grown so much over the years. Her runs are an essential part of her performance and are studied by today's biggest stars within the r&b world. She can stand and for hours and sing and I will not be able to turn away. You can't deny the emotion in her voice.
Just quit the comparisons, Brandy is obviously just singing the song for fun and is not trying to convince anyone that she is better than Beyonce. These are two women who have nothing but love for one another, so please, just cut it out.

That's my point. You took it out of context for a kii. In context what I said made sense.
Just because Bran is a contralto does not mean she will automatically sing as low as Toni.
I misread that comment, my bad and it's obvious by my reply. And I'm certainly not a delusional Beyhive, never have been. Not once did I compared Bey with Bran in this thread. So you can keep that next comment about "bey is flawless" bs.
But most of you guys comments here seem like trolling. But then again maybe you guys really consider that emotion if part of vocal technique or vocal abilities. You never know.
Lol @ foggy being re-used as an argument everytime someone posts Bey's resonant lower register you can even hear it on a low quality 240p video taken by a phone in the nosebleed section while the crowd is roaring.

Foggy
But you only hv 1 receipt of her doing it live. The rest of the time she had failed. And as I have already pointed out, brandy's range can extend lower. Even as a teenager, Best Friend, was written with notes lower than what Beyonce keep struggling to hit on halo as an ADULT

No personal diss intended, and sorry! I was referring to the Hive in general.
Emotion is part of vocal ability. But not technique.
We should bookmark this for chimier, so he can give an opinion on Beyoncé's shrill upper register and her foggy lower register and Brandy's unique vocals and runs.
@ Brandy's lower register overuling Bey's entire vocal range and capabilities. Alrighty
@ 1+1 not even being written for an alto and yet is more suited to Brandy's voice than Bey's.
@ 1+1 asking for a clear and strong head voice and Brandy not having that, yet it's more suited to her voice than Bey who has an amazing head register.
