Carly Rae Jepsen on Jay Leno
Carly Rae Jepsen appeared on Jay Leno to perform her new single "Helluva Lover", as well as to sit down for an interview. She wore a shimmery gold dress and heels, seeming energetic, happy, and youthful. She performed the single with great energy and stage presence and the audience responded well to the song and stage arrangement.
"The single is obviously, "Helluva Lover". It's one of the more upbeat tracks on the album. Katy Perry is also on the remix, which was released yesterday. We're going to be performing the remix together very soon, which is exciting."
When asked about the album, she said:
"The album is coming out next week. I will be announcing the date and album artwork this week on GMA. I'm so excited! It's been over a year since my last album and I don't like keeping albums in works for too long, I like to keep it fresh and current. We're still throwing out a couple titles and it will be a last minute choice, but I know whatever I choose will be perfect."
"Helluva Lover" Music Video Premieres on E!
The "Helluva Lover" video premiered on the E! network today. The video was shot at several locations in New York City. The opening scene features her ex-boyfriend walking out of her apartment with a box of her things and she's standing there crying. But, after she leaves, she grabs a pair of heels and slides into a pair of leather pants and a red jacket and steps out into the city. The first part of the video shows Carly Rae Jepsen singing and dancing down a New York City street and when the chorus picks up, it switches. The rest of the video features Carly tormenting her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend. The video ends with Carly and her ex-boyfriend making out in front of his current girlfriend as she stand there with her jaw dropped.
