I made my 14 yr. old sister who claims to be in love with her 18 yr. old boyfriend watch this on 20/20. This does happen more often than you think. Speaking solely from a heterosexual view: Females go after older guys because they mature faster; however, I've always found it weird for a 18 yr. old to be attracted to a 14 yr old. Like, why? You're about to graduate high school and are about to begin life as a young adult yet you choose to be in a relationship with a child who's life, in my opinion, is just now beginning. I do feel like these older guys prey on younger girls. They're freshman and are going to be thirsty for the attention of a superior, more mature senior. These guys know this and know how naive these young girls may be and will try to take advantage of that.
I don't know how I feel about the punishment for these type of situations, though. On one hand, I feel like it's disgusting and I couldn't see myself rationally dating someone that young at the age of 18; however, I don't know if I consider it pedophilic enough to warrant some of these people being labeled as a sexual predator for the rest of their lives. It really makes you wonder, though, how low they will go in the age department. Like what age is the cutoff for certain people?
In this case, I feel like the girl's parents were more bothered by the homosexuality aspect of it and that's wrong.
