Why are they so uncreative with typings this gen? It's almost like they are trying to avoid making new type combinations.

Goodra could have easily been Poison/Dragon or Dragon/Water, a lot of Pokemon could have been Fairy, Heliolisk could have been Electric/Dragon...

I think there is a bit of both. This Gen they have made lots of new type combinations like Rock/Dragon, Rock/Ice, Fighting/Flying, Grass/Ghost, Steel/Ghost, Normal/Electric(/Fire & /Ground), Dark/Psychic and the new Fairy type. But yes, they have missed out on a lot of potential cool and new combinations, oh well.

Rough estimate on Goodra's stats. Its obvious a Sp.Def wall. The potential to be a good Mixed Wall too. With Hydration for its ability its the perfect choice for a wall in a Rain Dance team. Its HP isn't that great, but 95 is still pretty decent. Dragon's resistance is pretty great too.

I like how they didn't go for the usual sweeper for the Pseudo this time.

Its other ability is Sap Sipper, which is decent if you want to give it a grass immunity.

Its like Blissey but in tank form. The type of walling you could so if you have Skarmory, Blissey, and Goodra
