this is the best stay performance ever!
U can feel the athmosphare from the crowd through the screen.
Rihanna sings with so much emotion, maybe cuz it was the firsr televised performance of "Stay?
Stay selling almost 4 million in the US, +650k in Uk & slaying charts worldwide with longlivity and almost 200 million views on youtube, is showing that the song is ICONIC material!
I'm still in awe about Bangerz. Here I was semi-obsessed looking for critics who thinks the same way I did.
The single “We Can’t Stop” was originally written
for Rihanna — a woman famous for singing over-
sexed songs and returning to a boyfriend who
beat her so badly her eyes were swollen shut.
“We Can’t Stop” is not the only song that is
reminiscent of Rihanna either: The opening to
“Bangerz,” “Adore You,” is sung in a style that
calls immediately to RiRi’s recent hit, “Stay.”
Generally though, much of Bangerz
comes across as Ke$ha or Rihanna cast-
offs with added “Look! I have sex!” lyrics
like “I’m dancing in the mirror, I feel
like I’ve got no panties on”.
Do My Thang would
make good Rihanna album filler, the nearest the
album gets to the souped-up rave pop of the
last few years. It's a "let's live it up" banger and
it's enjoyable if throwaway but has a disastrous
rap portion that Cyrus is way, way too try hard
to ever pull off.
That Cyrus duets with
Britney Spears on the third track is an obvious
parallel with the original good girl gone bad, yet
SMS (BANGERZ) simply sounds like a modern
Britney track – by no means a compliment. FU
features an opening refrain that’s pure Gaga,
whilst its kitchen-sink, dramatic production and
womping bass lines create a frenzy of musical
noise. Love Money Party is just a Rihanna cast-
off.
Truth is, the more you listen to Bangerz , the
clearer it becomes that Cyrus wants to be
Rihanna .
That's right:
"Adore You," which comes equipped with a laid-
back beat that bears a (probably intentional)
similarity to Rihanna's "Loveeeee Song."
