If I got it right they did the demo and gave it to Zedd who then worked on it for them.

Yes. The version we got has already Zedd's additional touch on it, the final will probably have only minor changes going from the Machete's teaser.

This was the IM's version.

You can definitely hear what Zedd added/changed when comparing the demo we have with IM's original version.
