SKY FERREIRA NEWTOWN RADIO SESSION AND INTERVIEW

Live on Newtown Radio today was Indie artist Sky Ferreira. With a brand new single out that's making her the biggest Indie artist in the world, she shows no signs of slowing down but she says she's going to stay true to who she is and not sell out just because of popularity. "It's not really about the success for me. All I ever wanted to do was release stuff. I didn't really do much of that on my last label so it's nice to have a label who supports me and believes in my music. The success is a nice addition. As long as people like the music." Following that she performed a song off of her 2011 released Ghost EP titled Everything Is Embarrassing. She sounded amazing and she continued answering questions for the session for Newtown Radio. On how she writes her music she answered in quite an interesting way. "I might have a melody or just a line in my head that's too good to just let slip and forget. So I write it down. Eventually you come up with little its and pieces, you hop in the studio with some writers and producers and you come up with songs. Most of my songs are done like that. But one song on the album was wrote by me alone." Following that she performed her latest single 'Teen Queen', the 70's influenced rock-pop song that is serving as the lead single off her brand new album expected in October.

Photos of Carly Rae Jepsen on the set of "Helluva Lover" have surfaced online. The star was filming the video for her single in New York City over the course of two days. The single was heard blasting from inside a studio, and fans recorded short, low quality snippets from outside the shooting area. While filming, Carly waved to fans inbetween takes.

SKY FERREIRA CONCERT HOSTED THROUGH TUMBLR

Sky Ferreira hosted a concert that was available to watch via Tumblr today in support of her compilation album and her latest single Teen Queen. Held in New York City at the Best Buy Theatre, Ferreira performed a long set of songs just for those Tumblr fans of hers. Over one million people watched the stream and it proved to be a success for both Tumblr and Ferreira.

Sky opened the show that would be mainly based around her album that is a compilation of her unreleased and demos with the song 'Too Many Boys' or also known by it's cut and shortened title 'Boys'. The instrumental started and the crowded went wild. Rays of every color of the spectrum shot out from the stage and the word 'Boys' in different fonts filled the one screen that based behind Ferreira's band. Sky came out to the crowd in a black skirt, blouse, and leather jacket, serving grunge realness with her hair a mess. She smiled at the crowd before she sang the demos that were recorded back in the 2009-2011 era.

Sky introduced the song 'Hallucination' which leaked back a year or two ago in a very exciting way. "Uh this song leaked awhile back but it'll be on the new album which I think is out in October. This is Hallucination or I'm Not Dead." Ferreira sang the song with stunning vocals, really emoting during the performance of the ballad. The crowd cheered her the most after this performance simply because it was stunning.

YOU'RE NOT THE ONE

Sky's second to last song was performed with a well known song among her fans titled 'You're Not The One'. The rock-pop song hit the speakers to a massive reception and it perhaps was the happiest Ferreira looked through the whole show, smiling as evident as possible as she killed the second to final song on the set..

TEEN QUEEN

Sky closed her set via the Tumblr concert with her latest single 'Teen Queen'. With a backdrop behind her, it acted as a green screen as neon images and abstract words and such flashed behind her and her band mates as she served flawless vocals on the 70's pop rock driven song. It was visually odd but stunning at the same time. After than the stream ended after she thanked everyone for watching and attending.

SKY FERREIRA PERFORMS AT VERSACE FASHION SHOW

A Versace fashion show as held today in New York City and invited to perform at the party was none other than Indie-pop artist Sky Ferreira. Performing two songs to provide some live vocals for the models to walk down the runway to. Sky being a model too, Ferreira left the side stage where the live acts performed to walk down the runway herself during the end of Teen Queen. She performed Boys a song that's on her compilation album as well as her upcoming record and the latest song released by her 'Teen Queen'. The performances were great vocally despite her being a bit shaky on Boys at the beginning.

SKY FERREIRA PREFORMS ON LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON

Ending a long week of promotion, Sky finished it off with a performance of Teen Queen on Late Nate With Jimmy Fallon. Pretty much over any anxiety she had from performing on national television is long gone as she showed interest and personality in her five minute interview with Jimmy and sounded great and looked confident on her performance of 'Teen Queen' that closed the show.

You have a interesting look about you Sky? What made you cut off your hair?
I thought if I pulled a Britney people would pay attention to me. Guess not.

Are you really a Teen Queen?
Well according to Twitter I'm the Cocaine Queen but hey whatever. Remember to buy Pink Cocaine on iTunes tonight by the way.

So why did you agree to collab on it?
I was high and I think my label kind of forced me into the studio with her against my will.

How is Azealia? What's her weave like?
Tired just like her.

How in the hell are you guys going to promote when at each other's neck?
I won't be at her neck but someone's always down her neck if you get what I mean.

This album, which I listened to a preview of too is very retro rock. It's a really cool and off combination, why?
I was bored. No but I wanted to come up with a original and unique sound and that's what we came up with.

Sky Ferreira performed the song with flawless vocals and good stage presence. There were no backdrops this time but Sky wore a black outfit that complimented the mood of the performance as it was simple. The only real effects were the smoke that sourced at the bottom of the stage from smoke machines.

Drake performs his new single Bonnie & Clyde and Over My Dead Body on Daybreak. Drake appeared on the TV this morning in the UK. Drake did a stunning job serving bars for days. The performances were really good and the crowd were screaming for him. Overall the performance is one to remember and Drake will keep growing as an artist.

AZEALIA BANKS RELEASES ARTWORK FOR PINK COCAINE

Released at midnight tonight will be 'Pink Cocaine' the collaboration between Harlem born rapper Azealia Banks and Indie-pop artist Sky Ferreira who both share the same label Tigerlily Recordings. After their heavily publicized beef with each other that resulted from twitter wards to physical altercations at strip clubs the two will still promote the single together. Azealia took to her twitter to reveal the odd artwork. What do you think?

Drake performs on Dancing With the Stars



Performing his new hits Over My Dead Body and Bonnie and Clyde, Drake hits the stage. In the middle of performing OMDB the professional dancers and amateurs come out on stage and rips it up. Drake serves us up with his skills and transitions into Bonnie & Clyde

While performing, more pro dancers came out and danced romantically, which is the theme of the song. Drake slows the tempo down and the performance ends with applause. Overall the performance was really good and one of the best performances on DWTS.

"SHOWTIME" SENT TO RADIO

Justin's new 4th single titled "Showtime", rumored the last single of his album was sent to radio. The song is a Pop song, and has no featurings. The song was sent to Pop and Rhythmic Radio for adds today. The single will also be as an individual song released on iTunes at midnight.

JUSTIN'S MTV NEWS INTERVIEW

The pop phenomenon sat down with MTV News to discuss his current album.

MTV: Your era is kinda coming to an end - how do you feel about it?
J: I've been so impressed with how everything has turned out. I think it's been great.

MTV: So aside from the Soundtrack have you been recording for a new album?
J: Tiny, tiny bit. Once the Soundtrack is out I will start working on my new project hard core.

MTV: Favorite song from this album!?
J: I say 'Turnt' everytime, haha. Also love "If I", "Paradise", and "Showtime".

:Any song you dislike?
J: Tiny secret haha - but I liked "Message In A Bottle" when recording but it's kinda cheesy to me now.

MTV: How long did this album take to record?
J: I did different songs recorded over a year, and put the best in here.
