It seems like hits is the only acceptable way to make your case and defend your fave on ATRL. 90% of the dragging here is about someone "flopping" or "underperforming" on the charts. Yes, a few of my fave's singles are flops, but why such a big deal? What about starpower, talent, award wins, and just overall impact?

Chart-topping hits usually define star power because chart-topping hits normally show people actually care about your music. My fave knows this.

They only should be important to the Artist but this is ATRL where most of the members think they can live vicariously through their faves accomplishments and so called failures. Pathetic I know. But there would be not Atrl without this, they would be no point at all. Music and the appreciation of it is the last thing on their minds.

I couldn't care less about awards (I'm a Katy stan, duh) but I see why someone would think it's important.

A hit puts you on the map, which sets you up for potential to have starpower, so I agree with that. My point is everyone is obsessed with their fave getting constant, multiple #1 hits, and love to make other stan bases feel bad because their fave didn't have a successful single for once.

I'm assuming you're coming for my fave with that second part. Her more recent singles haven't done very well on radio, but no way can you deny her starpower. She's been called a "flop" for 3 years, yet she's being asked to perform at all these huge events, has mad respect from critics, and has the paps following her every move when she hasn't done a thing OUTRAGEOUS to get people talking. Now that is some starpower

Because quality and talent is pretty much subjective whilst sales are not. Most atrlers are not musical experts, they wouldn't be able to give a credible analysis of a song or artists discography to explain why it is bland, generic, exciting, clever etc.
