For the past 13 years, three single ladies have set aside every Friday night as "Friday Fun Night". That is, until one of the women, Kimmie Boubier, pronounced Boobie-yay (played by Wilson), decides it is time to take this party to the next level after befriending an attorney.
Episode 1: Anything For Love.
Spoilers
Kimmie is vying for the attention of her boss Richard (Kevin Bishop), which lands her in the crosshairs of the ambitious Kendall (Kate Jenkinson). The result of this cattiness is that her work life gets mixed with her Super Fun Night which she spends with two other extremely socially awkward friends.
The three friends go to a piano bar to sing, and Richard joins them. Then of course Kendall shows up right before the stage-frightened Kimmie is supposed to sing and crushes her song. Kimmie nervously steps on stage and… faints again
Kimmie decides that she will go to a piano club to tackle her stage fright with her two best friends. Trouble is caused when a newly hired attorney who is hot for the same person Kimmie is hot for tries to win the competition as she is never one to lose

I wanted to like the show but I just couldn't get into it, plus it didn't help that they showed the second episode last night because the pilot was so bad and they did recasting.

The ratings speak for itself the show is a hit because of how funny it was. It wasn't the best first show ever but it was good and the fans like it. The same thing could be said for Full House which was slandered with critics, watch and see Rebel rise from the ashes. Not to mention Rotten Tomatoes raised it from 29 to 40 just by this episode.
Love love love Rebel, but this show doesn't look good.
And ratings are mostly from Modern Family being on before it + it being the series premiere, it can still drop significantly in the next coming weeks.
The explain how How To Live With Your Parents…which was behind MF got 6.3 million? Your logic doesn't work. Lets not discredit Rebel's star power. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...down/183884/9/
Not you saying the show "doesn't look good" WATCH it first then be the judge.

I love Rebel but the show just wasn't funny, her American accent doesn't work and they basically gave her character nothing to do but make fat jokes like having her run through the office to chase snacks, it was just really bad. Most of the comment I am seeing for the show are very negative and I think the ratings will be dropping pretty badly over the next few weeks. Sidenote: You cannot really compare a show like Full House to a show like this because they are so different but nice try.

If you allow critics to mold your mind you are crazy. Several people are commending the show including Paper Magazine. You are right the this episode wasn't LAUGH OUT LOUD funny but I like to watch shows more than once to see if I'll be a daily viewer.

Clearly I wasn't going by what the critics said, if you go back and read my comment you will see that, you are the one who brought up the critics in your first reply to me.
Rebel is undeniably talented, and with that said, I think it's fair to say she's better than the laughless and trite material that overwhelmed this episode. I'm left wondering if this series would have been greenlit were it not for Rebel's of-the-moment buzz and favorable performances in a few other subjects. It does feel a bit as though she's been handed the grand prize, while only possessing (at this moment, anyway) the potential for greatness.
But the interest in this woman is there, and for the time being, it's enough to attract an audience. I just hope SFN finds sure footing and manages to rise above this very ordinary pilot/second-episode-turned-pilot.

Agree 100% and I figure that's why the ratings were relatively high. People were tuning in expecting to see a half hour show full of her unique comedic stylings that we're used to seeing in her small roles in films, but I didn see any of that. I'm giving the show another chance next week, but if what we see next week is anything like what we saw this week, this show won't last long. It's a pity because Rebel is hilarious.
Critics panned the original pilot(s).
They warmed up to the premiere broadcast episode.
Ratings were solid. Good retention out of Modern Family
Guess that mean's we'll see where the rest of the series goes! Retention in the next few weeks will make or break it
