Benedict Cumberbatch beats Ryan Gosling and Henry Cavill to be named sexiest actor
WOMEN may have fallen in love with Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman and Ryan Gosling's soppy character Noah in 'The Notebook,' but it seems that Sherlock Holmes is their ideal man.
Surprisingly, Benedict Cumberbatch has beaten some of Hollywood's biggest heartthrobs to be named the sexiest male actor in a poll conducted by film magazine Empire.
The 37-year 'Sherlock' star came first in at first place, ahead of 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson and 'The Hangover's' Bradley Cooper.
Cumberbatch is now a Hollywood star in his own right after starring in 'Star Trek: Into Darkness,' and is clearly a popular choice with women around the world.
The poll was certainly triumphant for the Brits, as Emma Watson was named the sexiest actress.
The 23-year-old 'Harry Potter' star may be shocked to hear that she has beaten Hollywood beauties such as Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence.
Watson also came top over Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Emma Stone in the survey of over 50,000 movie fans.
