How do I feel about weave?
I feel like me wearing weave is for more of a convenience if anything. Trust me, it comes in handy when you have to wake up at 7:30 A.M., not having to flat iron your hair and ****. My natural hair is healthy and of a good length so there's no dissatisfaction going on. I'm very content with my looks. Weave actually can help your hair grow if you properly maintain it and your natural hair up under it.

Right.
Not only is a weave good for protective styles (as it grows natural hair while keeping the ends tucked away) it is much safer to the alternative (but cheaper) method of relaxing hair. Sure most weaves are straight hair which goes back to the euro-centric view of beauty, but if you wear a weave it doesn't mean you hate your hair, it could be for convenience, it could be because you can't grow hair through various problems, or that you are trying to recover from unexpected hair loss.
And trust me, I have long hair (as an African American male) and gyal my hair in the morning is a MESS. I have an 8am Orgo class so I literally have to wake up 5:30 AM just so I can tame my hair before school. If you have straight hair (as in a weave or natural straight) when you wake up your hair isn't in some weird shape. You can just literally get up and walk out the door with very little combing required.
