You're delusional.

First, Jay's pre-Down songs were minor hits at best. "Stolen" and "Ride It" peaked in the top 10 in the UK and free fell off the charts; they weren't major hits. Second, Miley's career started almost 8 years ago with Hannah Montana so if anyone has had longevity, it's her. She's had major success then and she's still having major success. Jay only major success is one song. Third, Jay only had 4 interviews to promote Neon because no one is interested in him. Trashy or not, people are interested in Miley (and they were interested in her before she was trashy).

Finally, I agree that quality is better than quantity, but Jay hasn't actually put out quality material in ages. You need to be a little more objective.

A minor hit that no one really remembers is hardly something to talk about. No one remembers his songs. Longetivity requires actually success. Priyanka Chopra's "Exotic" was a flop so using South Asian-influenced music is hardly the issue; South Asians aren't a group known for spending disposable income on music anyway so it's a waste of time to market towards them. The rest of your post is just strange. Having an interview at the Grammys "really matters"? Huh? What lol? And the number of interviews Jay had to promote Neon is irrelevant. He's not getting many interviews or press because no one cares.

As for what I wanted from Neon, nothing. I listened to it and it was alright. Nothing amazing.
