I wasn't feeling it. The gameplay seemed boring + I can't stand Ellen Page.

why is this game so hyped? I see it everywhere but I still dont know what it's about

Because
1) It's Quantic Dream
2) It has by far the best graphics of any current gen game, ever
3) It has Ellen Page
4) The story is LONG
5) The story is amazing

Just because it isn't your traditional game doesn't make it bad. I completely loved Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream are probably the only game developer capable of making a game where story and graphics CAN outweigh gameplay. It's a hybrid of a movie and a game.
