I was originally excited for Lorde's imagery because she was serving this medieval aesthetic with her promo and the Tennis Court MV, but her style is getting to be reductive.

Lorde's Pure Heroine is more sonically in line with Ellie Goulding's Lights. Same type of folky-sensibilities with electronic production but where Lorde uses a lower register with hints of hip-hop, Ellie uses a higher register and her sound is more dance-friendly.
