Simon Cowell has said he doesn't care about The Voice's recent Emmys win.
The NBC competition picked up the 'Outstanding Reality Series Competition' honour at the Emmys last month, beating The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, Top Chef, Project Runway and So You Think You Can Dance.
The win prompted headlines when SYTYCD judge and former American Idol boss Nigel Lythgoe tweeted that he was "shocked" The Voice triumphed.
However, Cowell - who worked on American Idol before joining The X Factor USA - told The Hollywood Reporter that he "couldn't give a s**t" about the award.
"The only thing I care about are the ratings [for The X Factor]," he added.
The X Factor USA - which has struggled to attract viewers for its third season - will this week debut the controversial Four Chair Challenge which has just been launched in the UK.
Cowell, who explained that the format was first used in the Dutch X Factor, praised the twist - which sees the judges choosing whether to keep singers but then being able to swap them for later auditionees.
"This is probably some of the most exciting TV we've made on one of these shows," Cowell said. "It is dramatic, it is controversial, but we love all that.
"We thought we can make this bigger and better. It aired in England over the weekend and people went nuts - half loving it and half hating it."
The X Factor USA airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox.
Poor Kelly and Paulina. They will be blamed by him for it's failure just as he blamed Paula, Nicole and Britney for the seasons before.
He should change the format and try not to make it seem so scripted. That even might not do much, but you can't just switch faces around. He should have known this after Britney came on the show. The format is too tired.
