Japanese iTunes is practically useless on the Oricon charts; they use other markets to download. iTunes barely covers anything, hence why 2011 songs and older are able to stay around in the top 10 for months on end

Everyone and their mother is bigger than Rihanna in Japan/Asia in general. Rihanna only has one platinum record in Japan, and about 3 gold records. 7 albums and over 30 singles and still hasn't sold over a million records in Japan
