You could say this, but really they do this kind of thing in Asia all the time.
It's interesting and smart, I suppose, but I can't imagine it works. Like, who is going to see that and then write down the date or remember it? Most people don't care. First week sales are all about the fanbase, not the promo.

Pop at the moment? Gaga has sold more records, won more awards, and has grossed more AT THE MOMENT. Maybe in a couple of years after Katy grosses $340m more in touring, wins 100+ more awards, and sells 15m more albums.
