Question since I'm unfamiliar as soccer isn't a major sport here in the US -- what's the average global viewership of that event? I'm assuming it's probably more than the Super Bowl since that is the big sport in many more countries.
For the finale the average was 530.9 million
For the normal matches 188.4 million.

I stated the average for the whole finale,the highest ratings during the last finale were 909.6 million
People watching are not pop fans at all, even more so than in the US. I don't think it gives as much boost as the SB in the US. I don't remember how much the increase was for Shakira, maybe Chem knows. But I think it didn't have a significant impact for Alicia's sales. But It is amazing exposure for the artist himself.
