Bridgit Mendler Visits Radio Disney To Talk About New Single And Album
Interviewer: Hello hello hello! It's way more beautiful here when the one and only Bridgit Mendler is in our studio. Glad to have you back on Radio Disney, to talk about your new single, video, album and so much much more.
Bridgit: Hello you too! I'm so happy to be back and thank you for asking me to do this, I'm always so excited when you guys asking to come to the studio, you're like my second family.
Interviewer: So let's get started, I think? A month before you were forgotten and nobody talked about you, sorry for these words, but they are the truth, and now, a month later, people are really really talking about you lately, you're on the cover of October's Teen Vogue magazine, you are really new single, new video, new album soon... What happened over the month, why so many people are talking about you?
Bridgit: I think it's just because I was gone for like 9 months from music and now I came back with bigger and better. It's true, I'm releasing a new single, on October 1st, it's my first single from the second album, and it's called Light Of You, and sometime really soon I'm releasing a new album, which is nearly done, just the last touches and it'll be OK. I already recorded 7 on 12 songs, so I'll be releasing it really soon, sooner than you might think. and the other reason people are talking about me I think is because of my little feud with Hollywood Records, but I can't keep myself silently and not talk about it. I want other Disney stars to see what they are doing for their artists, they are actually destroying them.
Interviewer: ouch, that was hurtful for Hollywood Records I think. So can you tell us anything about your new album? Any possible collaborations, your favorite song, what sound you are going this time? The wait is killing us, we want to hear some news.
Bridgit: Well this time I'm still doing pop music with some reggae and R&B influents, I came back to the studio with producers and writers who helped me to do first album. Um, I can already say there will be 12 songs on standart edition, and maybe 3 or 4, or maybe just remixes. I don't know yet about deluxe edition, but I'll let you know about that. And the sound will be the same as it were on Hello My Name Is... album, but it might sound a bit more mainstream on a couple of songs. I think my favorite song so far is Moments Like This, it has such a good vibe, it's a ballad, slow song, but you can actually feel amazing while listening to that song. Or maybe it's just me, I don't know. But the great thing about the album is that you can listen to it as many times as you want, if I get bored of it soon, I can expect other people to get bored of it soon too, so I'm working alot on the sound, I'm trying to make them as good as they can be. So I'm not rushing the album's production, I'm doing everything slowly, but with a better quality. It's hard to explain.
Interview: Today you have shot a music video for your single, which is out October 1st by the way, mark your calendars guys. Can you say something about it?
Bridgit: It was really fun to shoot, I had so much fun, but I was just freezing in those shorts, like really, it's the end of September and I'm walking around in the park with a guy only in shorts... How should I feel? But I was still happy with what came out, I can't wait to see how it all turned out, when director will edit it, but I can say it's just a simple video, it's a bit inspired by Demi's Give Your Heart A Break video, and maybe a bit by Selena's video for A Year Without Rain, because those photos will represent a rain, because basically, you think about memories and everything else when you're walking while it's raining. It may sound confusing, but you seriously need to see it to understand what I am talking about. Video will be premiered on VEVO on 10/3.
Interviewer: ow, I can't already wait to see your new video! I think it'll be epic. So, are you and your new label, Indigo Records, are planning to tour soon?
Bridgit: I would like to tour sometime soon, but not now, right now I'm focusing on single's promotion, which will be like, TV shows, some local festivals and stuff like that, not a big deal. And, oh, I'll be doing a VEVO Go Show soon, it'll be like a free show if someone finds me, I'll be doing it somewhere in New York, probably not far from Liberty's statue, so keep an eye on that place if you want to hear my new single acousticly!
