I guess the media isn't covering it because the risk is not as big as this article wants us to think it is. If we were in an actually huge risk, I'm pretty sure every single media would talk about it.
There was literally no change of it creating a dangerous black hole. That was just some pseudo-scientific nonsense made up by people who read something they didn't understand and got scared - any black hole that would have been created would have been so small it would have evaporated almost instantaneously with no effect on the outside world whatsoever.
