Chart Analysis For This Week:

On the singles front - Leona enjoys a 6th consecutive week at #1 with her Mariah-like track for Bleeding Love, the vile garage track by T2 was powerful enough to beat that overly hyped Girls Aloud track zooming up to #3 after it's physical release. In other chart news, we finally see the return of Crimbo cheer as Mimi's All I Want For Christmas Is You soars up to #23, the excellent Editors track at #26 after it's physical release & Christina Aguilera's Hurt reenters the top 40 after a girl group called Hope performed it on the reality competition X-Factor.

On the albums front - Leona remains at #1 for a third week in a row selling 164,000 copies bringing her 3 week total to 737,000 making it the 4th best selling album of the year already! The X-Factor winner of 2005, Shayne Ward debuted at #2 this week selling 95,000 copies despite being ignored on the radio stations & only getting a decent amount of TV airplay [plus alot of promotional events for the album]. The shocking thing this week would be the position where Kylie Minogue's X landed this week, debuting at #4 selling 82,370 copies this week outsold by Pestlife's current album which sold 82,692 copies this week so it was extremely close! And atleast X outsold Body Language by 13,000 copies when it originally debuted at #6 in 2003 selling 69K. [the same week of that Michael & Britney's albums were released]. But I digress. So for Kylie, those are great sales considering the wishywashy reception of 2 Hearts. She's done a great amount of promotion for the album so it should keep on selling decently for the Christmas season. Second single is a tossup between Wow & In My Arms - hopefully the latter is officially chosen as a single as it's my favorite track on the album & is just pure Kylie heaven.

Right around the same, so you can't say it's performing that much worse. Sales were much higher though in 2003 at this time because in the 3rd, 4th, & 5th weeks In The Zone sold an average of about 15,000-20,000 copies weekly.
