For the last time FEMINISM is NOT about a woman not being submissive or not being dependent on her man or a woman being independent and nonsexual. Feminism is about WOMEN having the RIGHT to choose what they want to do, the messages they want to send, the way they want to dress and the paths they want to take in life. Anti-feminism is not a woman being a housewife, or being submissive, or dependent on her man. Anti-feminism is any woman dictating what women as a gender should and should not do. Because in reality what is the difference between a man dictating what women should do and a woman dictating what women should do? Either way it takes away the freedom of women to decide for themselves and that is what feminism is; letting women decide for themselves what they want to do and getting equal treatment in all aspects of their lives regardless of the choice they make.

Furthermore, it is really insulting to assume that all women are so naive and dumb that they can never be in charge of their own sexuality and consciously want to be sexy and talk about sex and talk about pleasing a man.

Selena has said in many articles/interviews that she picked come and get it because it made her feel CONFIDENT so where does that mean she was being submissive. It is meant to make the woman feel confident in her skin and sexy enough to not ask the guy IF he wants her but instead tell him SHE KNOWS HE WANTS HER so SHE is extending an invitation to him that whenever he's ready he can come and get it. Being deeply in love and dependent on a guy doesn't make someone anti feminist it just means that you're flipping emotional and so in love that your happiness in some way depends on being around the person you love. Is it anti-feminist to feel like your family brings you happiness, or anti- feminist to feel like your son/daughter brings you happiness and that you would be depressed without them in your life?

And look at that I made my point without having to diss/shade Lorde or resort to sales/charting which have nothing to do with the point Lorde was making.

She just doesn’t seem to be here for songs like CAGI where women passively coo at men to come get their goodies whenever men feel the urge.

There a lot of things that can be said about this Lorde chick. She’s precocious and seemingly very aware and astute for her age. I would think that most women don’t get into this type of theory until their first women’s studies class at university, and yet at 16, Lorde apparently knows what time it is. This is very brave of her to sport the feminist tag, given that many of our faves and even the CEO of Yahoo deny/denounce the term, even though they’re benefiting from the work of those feminists/womanists who came before them.
