Well, I would start my career as a songwriter, and probably end up pursuing a career of my own because my label is like "lol you write smashes, make us even more money as a singer" so, even though my vocals would be filled with autotune and Melodyne to the point where my vocals are unrecognizable, I would still have a career.

I would use songs I have already wrote for my first album, then release an EP with songs given to me by other songwriters and cover songs while touring and writing for my next album, which hopefully would be released ~1 year after my first, and repeat that process for like 3 years so that I have the fan base, hype, etc. to take a break and deliver a really great and expansive album for my 4th, where I will then be considered a pop music staple.

January - writing for the album, talk out with producers and co-writers by saying what I exactly want to be on my album, discuss with producers about demos, sounds, styles
February - start recording songs, but slowly, not rushing anything or whatsoever, see how my voice goes with the instrumentals, I'd also write songs too, but now in collaboration with professional writers, fix and add some lyrics
March - continue to record an album, give out a 20-second teaser to fans of a demo or something just to see how they are reacting to a sound of an album
April - probably pick out a lead single and hire a good management for a good promotion. also, I'd work my ass off for the world class performances, visual effects, dance routine, wardrobe choices, live band members, decorations for the stage, also vocal training and that basic stuff.
May - I'd shoot a video for the lead single with a high budget, with a lot of dancers, and with an intro to the video, to tell a story or something, like to tell people what inspired whole album and lead single, do a photoshoot for a single and album covers.
June - release a video, release a single, start promoting with TV shows, VEVO videos, a little radio tour and also a little 3 or 4 dates tour for a big free show outside somewhere in the city. also in June take a break from album recording to give a big amount of promo for the single.
July - come back to the studio to finish whole album with some new ideas and songs, record it, and in the end of a month do some local radio promo for the single. shoot a second video with a little less budget, more simple, for the second song of the album, which will be released as a promo/buzz single with album's pre-order.
August - do the last touches on the album, pick a tracklist for both deluxe and standart album edition, talk with the group about single choices and promo. I'd also do the VMA's pre-show performance of the first single and a new song (which will be a promo single, not the real one) and at the midnight put the album for a pre-order and also a video for buzz single that was released with pre-order.
September - radio tour, TV shows, fan contests (who promotes the new album wins the album before it's release)
October - album release, listening party, promo promo promo, a video for the second single
November - release a second single alongside with video, announce a 40 dates tour in North America and also UK.
December - do the UK tour, and release a first official single in a UK too, do a bit of promo there, also do a VEVO performance for UK fans, and announce about writing a new songs for album two on twitter. shoot a music video for third single in UK.
January - release the third and the last single from the album, release a music video for it. end the era while it's doing amazing, then take a 6 months break while travelling and write a new songs for album during the break.

I don't think I'd particularly crave commercial success, so I'd probably end up releasing every year or two with material that I love. Most of my year would be spent perfecting and refining my ideas until I made something truly worth showing the rest of the world.
