According to new reports, Adele may star as one of her influences, Dusty Springfield, in a new biopic.

"The film, which will be written by Boardwalk Empire scribe David Stenn, will focus on Springfield's time living in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 1960s during the making of her 1969 album Dusty in Memphis.

A studio executive tells the Daily Mail that soul star Adele is in talks to join the film, saying, 'There is a project - and it's true Adele is attached - but it's in an early stage of development.'

The script is yet to be accepted by a studio, and Adele's musical commitments may be a factor in her ability to accept the role.

Adele's London-based spokesman offered "no comment on this" when approach by the newspaper."

Ikr, me too.... It's been like, a whole year since "Skyfall" came out. Well, almost a whole year... A week from tomorrow will mark the 1-year anniversary of "Skyfall". We need more music. And all these film rumors are rather interesting, especially considering that Adele previously stated that she was a terrible actress and had no desire to act.

I'll take this report with a grain of salt. Pretty sure Adele wouldn't do a movie. But she at least has to be doing something for the new album though, even if she's just thinking about it.

It's amazing though how she barely does anything and is still constantly in the press for something.

I agree with you 100%. I don't think she'd do a movie, although I will say that it'd be more likely for her to star as Dusty Springfield in a film than to star in The Secret Service. I do know that she has to be doing something on the new album, though. I'm waiting for the day to come when she says that the new album is coming. I will die of happiness.

And Ikr, she could literally just drop dead and she'd still be in the press for stuff. She's just that amazing. I do feel bad for her, though, because so many people spread rumors about her and I know she hates that, but I'm also proud of her because she stops reading so much about all the stupid rumors people make up about her.

Adele never fails to disappoint, though. For all we know, she could announce tomorrow that she has been working on a new album for over a year and it's going to be released next month. She's extremely secretive on everything she does. I'm positive that there will be new Adele music soon, though. I don't think we'll have to wait 6 more years for a new album.

Adele can't act, even playing herself on Ugly Betty she was awkward and I'm pretty sure she admitted it in an interview.

I thought she indirectly denied that quote, though. She said it'd be the same amount of time between 21 and the third album that there was between 19 and 21. She incorrectly stated it was two years, but actually it was three. (2008, 2011) Hopefully early 2014 will be the year, with a lead single dropping late this year. One can only hope......

She did fine on Ugly Betty in my opinion. She said she can't act, though. I feel like whenever Adele's name starts to fade out of the news, people feel the need to make up more stuff about her just to keep her name out there and to add fuel to the fire. I don't get why society likes causing drama so much, but they do....

Well that Vogue interview was right towards the end of her vocal problems, shortly before her surgery, so she was probably burnt out, plus she probably never expected 21 to take off the way it did and was probably overwhelmed with everything and said those comments without thinking.

At least I hope.

Though honestly, I'm expecting her to announce she's pregnant again soon.

She said so herself that she wouldn't do it and i think people just sort of want it for her even though she doesn't(she already has that oscar so its pointless anyways)..........
but am glad we getting more confirmation of her making new music ....
