The Fame Monster era, in my opinion, is where you really saw Madonna's influence on Gaga.

Part of me feels like Gaga is very careful and selective of how she presents her artistry these days. She's never outright copied Madonna. Not even the BTW chord progression is a valid argument for her copying Madonna because it's legally impossible to copyright chord progressions.

Her dancing back in her earlier days was very reminiscent of Janet's dancing. You can also kind of her it in her music.
